The genocide will not be stopped by Labour whilst there's money to be made
Why is the UK still one of the most active commercial partners of the genocidal settler state?
A few months ago I spoke to my MP in Parliament, imploring him to take a courageous stand and do what he can to end the genocide of 2.3 million people in Gaza. His response? The Military Industrial Complex is all important to this country, it generates wealth and jobs and he had been told that he didn’t have the full picture vis a vis Israel, “our ally” and that as such he wouldn’t do anything which contradicts the government’s policy towards our ally … but that everyone was shocked and horrified by what was happening in Gaza … although it wasn’t a genocide and he took issue with my definition of the appalling situation as being one of genocide.
The British Commonwealth is something we learn throughout school is a thing to be celebrated, cherished, continued and expanded to the benefit of its membership. This of course follows from Britain’s Imperial influence across the world: influence we look upon fondly when it relates to our ability to determine the historical stories and futures of others … particularly those east of the Bosphorus and south of the mediterranean. Conversely, when those whose futures were affected by that imperialism wish to come to the land of those whose original ambition was to subjugate them or place them beneath the control (domination) of outsiders, we can just as easily abandon our eager reclamation of that imperial past.
Selective blindness, deafness and speechlessness is not just realised at a personal level. On corporate and political levels too, operate to facilitate our willingness to conspire against “the other” abroad whilst denying knowledge and involvement of conspiracy and joint enterprise at home.
Two days ago our largely now discredited Labour government placed this multi-sensory impairment on display for all to see as it has on so many occasions over the past year. Its approval rating has fallen from mid-thirties percentiles at its height to 18% now. A new agreement is to be signed between our Ministry of Defence and Israel’s foremost arms maker, Elbit Systems, a business already so deeply embedded in the UK military industrial community that it became the primary target of the recently proscribed Palestine Action group. In return for the training 60,000 British troops (in what is unclear) the corporation, whose bloodstained fingerprints smudge every day of the past 700+ days of Israel’s brutal and unrelenting genocide of the Palestinian people, will be rewarded with (by varying reports) anything between £2 billion and £2.7 billion of taxpayers’ money, whilst at the same time people living with disability are denied a reasonable expectation to personal independence and the elderly are denied winter fuel allowances. The result will be that the UK government and the establishment will become a more effective killer abroad and at home. Is this an indication of the democracy to which we as citizens ascribe by the payment of tax and casting of votes?
This is meanwhile, just the latest act in this government’s joint enterprise conspiracy with its ally, Israel. Keir Starmer’s avowed intent to claim “power” in 2020 when he campaigned to lead the Labour Party has been realised; but the amorality of the administration which resulted is clear to those who have not placed reliance on the “truth” expressed by the state-controlled media of the BBC or the other Zionist dominated media companies - daily newspapers, ITN, western broadcast media and the fiction creators of Hollywood who invidiously inspire belief in Zionist messages.
The Israeli Database of Military and Security Exports https://dimse.info/ shows that there has been a gradual increase in the interweaving of the “security” communities of the UK and the settler State. Since 2022 alone … a continuation of a broad and deep association with the business … the MOD has reached agreements with Elbit Systems to deliver laser warning systems for Challenger tanks and micro-uncrewed drone systems (the type frequently “battle-tested” against Palestinian civilians during the past two years of their extermination).
The provision of Ground Manoeuvre Synthetic Trainer systems (GMST) costing $71,000,000 for the Boxer armoured vehicles and Challenger 3 tanks under the British Army’s Project Vulcan was a contract was awarded to Elbit Systems UK in April 2023 which commenced delivery at the Combat Manoeuvre Centre at Bovington in November 2023. Over a three-year period, the system will provide training for levels from individual skills to subunit collective training. An additional nine year period will include operation and maintenance services, whilst Instro Precision Limited (a wholly owned Elbit subsidiary signed a £16,000,000 deal with the MOD this year for XACT nv33 compact Night Vision Goggles having already supplied more than 3500 pairs of NVG’s.
Facial recognition systems developed by Corsight and BriefCam were purchased last year by Essex and Cumbria Police Constabularies respectively. These were just the latest police forces to be equipped with the facial recognition technology which over the bank holiday was on display at the Notting Hill Carnival. BriefCam incorporated in the UK in 2019 as BriefCam UK Limited since when it has submitted “dormant company” accounts. It appeared to be a subsidiary of Canon Inc. with American, Danish and Japanese officers but now it only has one Danish director who is also a director of another (Danish) Canon subsidiary Milestone Systems A/S which seems to have no internet presence whatsoever and Edwin Coe LLP (its solicitors) providing a post restante address in Lincoln’s Inn.
Since 2018 and 2019 police forces nationwide have been using Cellebrite’s Universal Forensic Extraction Device https://www.forensicsinsider.com/digital-forensics/cellebrite-ufed/ which can now be deployed in a cloud so that they don’t even have to physically have your phone.
Office of National Statistics figures show how trade with Israel has if anything increased since the Starmer government came to power. Looking at one trade category in particular “Machinery & Transport Equipment” trade, category 7 of the Standard International Trade Categories clearly demonstrates an increase in the export trade with Israel which has risen by an average £3,000,000 per month since June 2024 from £509,000,000 in the final 9 months of Sunak’s Tory administration to £710,000,000 during the first 12 months of the current administration. Details of the contents of these would suggest that these exports involve general machinery and road vehicles. This category specifically excludes arms, armaments and weapons.
The category which I am informed incorporates such arms, armaments and weapons (and that would include parts for such arms, armaments and weapons) is category 8 Miscellaneous Manufactures and specifically Other Manufactures (89). The figures that I was able to collate exclude any specific reference to 893 "arms and ammunition".
Taking the quoted figures of exports from the UK to Israel directly since Starmer’s government came to power indicate that an average £1,274,000 of exports have been sent to arrive in Israel each month, in total £15,300,000 across the year.
Thanks to the journalism of Matt Kennard and others, we know that since the Foreign Secretary, in September 2024, over 8000 shipments of arms have been sent to Israel to fuel that government's attempts to exterminate the populations of the OPT’s, not to mention Palestinians living in exile in Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Yemen. The idea that the figures quoted by the ONS (perhaps supplied to the ONS) are representative of the totality of arms, armaments and weapons or parts for arms, armaments and weapons, I find incredible. I believe that the government is significantly massaging these figures. Just as (as I recently wrote) a Dorset company, was forced to cease direct its trade with Israel providing drone engines, on the basis of a UK government export licence exemption, by the local government of the town in which it is based, I believe that the figures are manipulated to minimise the UK Government’s active participation in a genocide and the culpability of the Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary, Trade Secretary and Defence Secretary specifically.
Having this morning heard the testimony of former diplomat in the office of arms exports, Mark Smith and PCS chair Fran Heathcote to the Gaza Tribunal, evidencing the intimidation, and manipulation of information, and remodelling of the truth by ministers and others as a matter of course across the so far 15 months of this Government, I am convinced of the fact.
I will pass this article to John McEvoy of Declassified UK, who I believe is the greatest forensic journalist of the past 23 months here in the UK, in the hope that his skills (infinitely superior to my own) can provide further clarity as to the “reconstruction of trade figures” showing us where the arms are hidden and the breadth of the use of export licence exclusions amongst those arms manufacturers which have equipped and reequipped Israel to prosecute genocide.
