It seems that there’s little point now, in distinguishing between Israel’s onslaughts in Gaza and its actions against the West Bank and Lebanon. The Netanyahu government has made its intentions clear: Gaza is the first mile on a journey Israel believes it can make towards the establishment of Greater Israel as Netanyahu described when addressing the 78th Session of the United Nations’ General Assembly 22 September 2023; the ambitions of Israel’s extremist settler colonial government and the greater part of its 6 million Jewish inhabitants have since however grown. Drunk on its hold over successive right wing administrations in the USA, Germany, the UK and France, it now considers Lebanon (or parts thereof) and parts of Syria and Jordan to be within its grasp. The capture of this area will undoubtedly trigger a wider regional conflict, during which Israel will hope that the military might of Iran will be destroyed by Israel’s allies the USA and UK who have forces amassed aboard warships in the Mediterranean Sea and at RAF Akrotiri on the Island of Cyprus.
Western media, mainly in the grasp of Zionist sympathisers, Zionists themselves or censored, or controlled by the instruments of state present a picture of Israel under threat at this point having exhausted its possibilities to claim that this expanding offensive has anything to do with “self defence” following the Al-Aqsa Flood attacks on the Gaza Brigade, Kibbutz Be’eri and the Nova music festival on 7 October 2023.
Western media has failed to cover the acts of the USA, Germany and the UK in positive support of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, as it has failed to report in any detail or in any way critically, Israel’s assaults, using its overwhelming military advantage when disabling hundreds during the March of Return at the fence of the open air prison that is Gaza in 2018, or when “mowing the lawn” in Gaza in 2008, 2012, 2014 and 2021:
Western media presents a picture of the events of 7 October 2023 as the most deadly day for Jews worldwide, since the Holocaust (“the Holocaust” being a description of the industrialisation of the slaughter of 6,000,000 + Jews by the Nazis which also exterminated gays, people with learning difficulties, blacks, Romani, dissidents and numerous other non-Arian groups or peoples the Nazis proscribed as “Untermensch” which was only attributed to these acts for the first time in 1972 and which, increasingly, has been circumscribed by those wishing to promote the cause … not of Jews of conscience, from whom the memory has been stolen in a manner which is truly antisemitic … but of Israel, the direct violent and racist product of the Holocaust). It has rehearsed, time and again Israel’s Hesbara (“explanation” … whenever was a term so abused) claims of what occurred on that day. They claim women were raped, children were beheaded or cooked in ovens etc. not a single incidence of which has been established and many of which claims have been refuted in Israel’s own media. They still state with what appears to be certainty that Palestinian fighters caused over 1200 deaths … a claim which Israeli media has long since abandoned as it became clear that, carrying out the Hannibal Directive (the IDF’s instruction to prevent the taking of hostages by killing the hostages as they are being captured) destroyed many people, many homes in Kibbutz Be’eri and many cars and vehicles which were being used by Hamas and Islamic Jihad to abduct captives before they could reach the fence around Gaza. There is no distinction made between friendly fire and those deaths which occurred at the hands of those who attacked from within Gaza.

Western media largely ignores the torture camps which Israel has established since 7 October and before, or Force 100’s systematic sexual assault and humiliation of innocent Palestinian captives in Sde Teiman, or the fact that none of those who were subsequently charged with rape have been prosecuted or remain in detention, whilst their innocent Palestinian victims continue to be abused, being physically and mentally destroyed in camps like Sde Teiman. When it seemingly criticises the Israeli administration, it always mollifies its criticism of Israel by framing every crime as having taken place in the context of 7 October 2023.
Well, let’s do that … Netanyahu’s speech of 22 September 2023 (one of several in which he has presented his plan) ignored the existence of a population which has been occupied and oppressed without limitation or proscription by the international community since 1948 and which has suffered apartheid since 1967. The powers with influence at the UN - again, the USA, UK etc. permitted Palestine and Palestinians to be treated as non-existent, just as they have dehumanised them since 7 October. They have become a count - like an SKU item in our supermarkets. At best they are treated as untermensch, at worst, creatures with fewer rights to exist than your family cat or dog. The Al-Aqsa Flood attacks had been planned for months. Israel’s hubris had extended to believing that the Palestinians were incapable of such an assault and so (as its own generals admitted) Israel’s Gaza Division in the camps around the Gaza Strip were overwhelmed and overpowered. On 7 October Hamas reminded the UN General Assembly and anyone prepared to listen, that Palestinians and Palestine (an independent sovereign state in its own right now in the opinion of 146 of the 193 countries of the UN (75%)) exists and that Palestinians, too, are human beings with hopes, dreams and aspirations … not least of self determination as the sovereign state, which the majority of the world’s nations have accepted it is).
So what can we do to hold our governments and Israel to account?
Boycott Israel and those commercial interests which support it. The BDS movement publishes lists of those commercial interests which are invested in Israel’s settler colonial nightmare. Boycott media organisations which ignore or recast Israel’s crimes. Speak out in social media yourself and follow the many honest and well researched alternative media sources and channels on YouTube, Rumble and elsewhere. Write to your member of Parliament or Congress. Protest - look for your local “Friends of Palestine” group or your student community group. The younger you are, the more I admire and envy the fact that life has not yet led you to accept the establishment point of view as portrayed by mainstream media and the more resourceful you will be in ferreting out additional sources of truth. Above all else, do what you can to promote your truth.
As my parents taught me … “above all else, to thine own self be true”. Don’t permit the lies of others to supplant your own personal truth and challenge those lies whenever and wherever you can.
And remember Gaza.
Try all complicit with crimes against humanity and watch the dead bodies pile on high
